Three things people ask first

How much do I need to start?

Nothing fixed. The Standard account has no minimum deposit, so you can fund small and size down while you get used to the spreads and the platform. ECN needs $3,000 to open, and only pays off once your volume is high enough that raw spreads beat the $5 per lot commission.

How long does it take to open?

Registration itself takes a few minutes on GTC's platform. After that you complete identity verification and fund the account before you can place a live trade. Services are stated as unavailable to residents of the United States, Japan and Australia, and the registration flow will tell you if your country is not accepted.

Is 1:2000 leverage safe to use?

It is a ceiling, not a target. At 1:2000 the margin on a position is 0.05% of its value, so a 0.05% move against you wipes it out. Major regulators cap retail leverage far lower because most retail accounts lose money at high leverage. If you are new, size as though the cap were 1:30 no matter what the platform allows.

No minimum deposit on Standard. Registration and verification happen on GTC's own platform, and you can move to ECN later as your volume grows.
